What I Think About Edibles: A comical encounter
The first time I tried cannabis I opted for the infamous pot brownie. A concerned friend pointed out the effects of this product thus; I just ate a small piece. All the same, the weed did not alter my senses, and I did not take some more to try and learn more about it. It occurred to me that maybe the brownie was not a pot brownie but a regular one or I was insusceptible to cannabis.
A few of months later, in an attempt to learn more about marijuana, I tried my second edible with the same thoughts in mind thinking that was It wouldn’t affect me. Everybody else would be high except me. However that was not the case I was stoned out of my mind and thus, began my love for edibles.
To be honest, I was afraid of smoking and chose to use edibles claiming food was safer and healthier even though it is odd to consider brownies healthy given that their main ingredient is sugar. I spent the months that followed trying to learn more about this product. Having my senses altered by this product was delightful.
When my partner and I began seeing each other we took an edible together. I can clearly recall the chocolate bar wrapping and its taste on my tongue. The night preceding that day we had each only a tiny piece of the chocolate. Thus, we only felt a mild effect. The next afternoon we ate the remaining piece of the chocolate bar and went for a hike.
We were stoned out of our minds, beyond what we had previously experienced. The effects of the marijuana lasted for about fourteen hours. We felt like we were one with nature. Later we watched a Harry Potter movie which had us in tears when we thought about of the trauma all the characters had to undergo at a tender age of eleven years.
We were locked within our minds and bodies and fourteen hours were like fourteen days. We had mixed up feelings, we felt separated and connected, terrified and at the same time excited, out of control but also had a sense of control. The fourteen hours were like a lifetime.
The day was a memorable one. That particular day was one of the final moments we shared edibles. Later I became accustomed to smoking. The idea of growing, storing and maintaining weed became my new interest and I wanted to learn more. They say that when weed is stored well, it will last for a longer time. I say the effect of this product will be felt for the longest time if you take a pot brownie.
